Job Summary
Living in Balance Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Intern to join our team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world clinical experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive and structured environment.
Interns will work closely with children, adolescents, and families while gaining exposure to a variety of therapeutic approaches, including individual and group counseling.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Support individual and group counseling sessions under supervision
- Participate in treatment planning and case management
- Contribute to clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client care
- Assist with crisis intervention and behavior management when appropriate
- Facilitate or support group sessions and therapeutic activities

Internship Details
- Focused on training and professional development
- The first 90 days are dedicated to intensive training, study, and shadowing
- Weekly supervision is provided by a designated Clinical Supervisor
- Interns will gain experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s program in Clinical Counseling or a related field
- Must be completing a second internship or beyond
- Preferred candidates are nearing graduation and completing final internship hours
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Preferred (Not Required)
- Coursework or experience in psychotherapy, child & family counseling, or behavioral therapy
- Familiarity with telehealth or clinical documentation systems
