Job Summary:
The Youth & Family Support Specialist (Behavior Coach) works directly with children, adolescents, and families to provide individualized coaching and behavioral support.
This role focuses on skill-building, emotional regulation, and behavior change through a trauma-informed, strength-based approach. You will collaborate closely with Child & Family Teams (CFT) and play a key role in helping clients achieve meaningful progress.
Schedule & Commitment (Important)
This role requires consistency and commitment to one of the following schedules:
Option 1:
4:00 PM – 8:00 PM (4 weekdays per week)
- One full weekend day (Saturday or Sunday, starting at 9:00 AM)
- 20–25 hours per week
Option 2:
3:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
20–25 hours per week
Candidates must be able to maintain a consistent schedule week-to-week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a minimum of 20+ hours/week of direct, billable services
- Deliver services in home, school, community, and office settings
- Implement individualized behavioral support plans based on CFT goals
- Support skill development in emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social skills
- Participate in Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings and collaborate with providers
- Provide transportation to clients as required
- Complete accurate and timely documentation (same-day notes required)
- Communicate client progress, challenges, and updates to supervisors
- Attend trainings, supervision, and team meetings
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience, OR
- Associate’s Degree + 2 years experience, OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral health-related field + 1 year experience
- Experience working with youth or families in behavioral health settings preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations using a trauma-informed approach
Required Certifications & Prerequisites
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Active Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certification
- Current TB clearance
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
