The concept of Vogt Aero and Vogt MRO began over 30 years ago, in 1993, when Erik Vogt became a certified FAA DER (Designated Engineering Representative). As a DER, Erik reviews and approves aviation engineering data on behalf of the FAA. In 2004, he founded Vogt Aviation and Certification to work with companies all over the world on engineering solutions. In 2016, we rebranded to Vogt Aero, adding parts to the services company. Vogt MRO was added in 2024 to expand the solutions we are able to offer our customers. •Position Summary: Vogt MRO is seeking a full-time on-site Repair Technician to perform hands-on maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alteration on civil aviation mechanical and electrical components under our FAA Certification and Operations Specifications. The team member must be willing to meet all required operator training requirements as identified per the job function and the team member’s assessment, and remain current with regulatory training. The team member must be a critical thinker, fast learner, and problem solver who thrives in a high stake, team collaborative, precision-driven industry. The team member will be working closely with the Lead Technician, General Manager, Administrator, Chief Inspector, Other Technicians/Repairman’s/Inspectors, Accountable Manager, CEO, and President. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a company that can offer multiple opportunities to grow. •Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities included but are not limited to ensure components are properly identified as unserviceable when received. -- Perform all work on components in accordance with the approved technical data. --Perform any assignment delegated by the General Manager or Lead Technician. --Accurately document amount of time spent on each job and a description of work performed. --Continuously apply all in-house, self-study, recurrent, and remedial training to support the repair station and fulfill training plan obligations. --Adapt and become familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, regulatory frameworks, and maintenance records used to perform the work assigned. --Meet planned schedules on maintenance activities, prepare tech reports including work orders, logs, and support proper maintenance records for audit preparedness. --Ensure compliance with any appropriate technical data, manuals, company policies and procedures related to the repair station. --Report timely and accurate communication to ensure all work meets airworthiness, safety and regulatory requirements. --Assist in all areas of the company as needed. • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and logical reasoning. --Familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools used to perform the assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance and alteration tasks. --Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple ongoing documentation workflows. --Technological literacy, including familiarity with server and storage systems. --Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and document control systems (ERP/QMS preferred). --Willingness to learn FAA certification language, technical drawing formats, and aerospace part classification systems. --Collaborate with team members to sustain, improve, and implement organizational processes and best practices. • Physical Requirements: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the team member is required to the team member is required read write speak & understand English The team member is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, lift 10-50 pounds on occasion, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Use of light machinery will be used constantly. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. •Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in an aerospace company (e.g., supporting MRO, FAA PMA, DER, or STC processes). --2+ years of experience in a regulated technical industry—such as aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or quality compliance. --Familiarity with FAA documentation, AS9100, or ISO 9001 standards. --Familiarity of Non-Destructive Testing for Eddy Current (E/T), Magnetic particle (M/T), and Fluorescent Penetrant (P/T) inspections. --Familiarity with general shop tooling and equipment and specialized materials (Hazmat). --Experience working with technical drawings, specifications, or BOMs. Preferred Education: --Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. --The Aviation Mechanic certificate (Part 65 A&P Certificate).
