Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional provides compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and throughout the community. DSPs promote independence, assist with individualized goals, teach life skills, encourage community involvement, and help individuals achieve the highest possible quality of life.
Each day brings new opportunities to encourage confidence, celebrate achievements, and help individuals reach their personal goals. Current pay rates: $17-$19.50 per hour.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support in accordance with each member's Person-Centered Service Plan.
- Encourage independence while providing assistance based on individual needs.
- Teach and reinforce daily living skills, communication skills, social skills, and community integration.
- Support individuals during recreational, educational, and community activities.
- Foster positive relationships while promoting dignity, respect, and inclusion.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each individual at all times.
- Accurately complete required documentation, service notes, and timekeeping in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, care teams, and family members when appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA, AHCCCS, DDD, and Branching Out Family Services policies and procedures.
- Represent Branching Out Family Services professionally within the community.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Arizona Driver License with reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Ability to utilize a smartphone or tablet for documentation and communication.
- Ability to safely assist individuals with mobility and daily activities, including lifting up to 40 pounds when necessary.
