Water Infrastructure Finance Authority
Hear from the new Water Infrastructure and Finance Authority of Arizona!
Water infrastructure has been a hot topic for Arizona this year, with the Copper state leading the nation in planning for the future of water. This is a necessary conversation as Arizona is facing more than two decades of drought and the over allocation of the Colorado River. Luckily, Arizona leaders have been planning for and ensuring the proper management of water resources.
This year, Governor Ducey signed legislation, providing $1.2 billion over three years to boost long-term water supplies and implement conservation efforts. This legislation also funded the new Water Infrastructure Finance Authority, which focuses on buying new sources of water and building new infrastructure.
Attend on October 7 to hear about this legislation, also from the City of Chandler on their Drought Management Plan, and the Salt River Project and their investments towards water management efforts.
Speakers:
- Lindsey Jones, Senior Program Administrator, Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona
- Ron Klawitter, Senior Principal Water System Projects, Salt River Project
- Simone Kjolsrud, Water Resource Advisor, City of Chandler
