Memorial Day Tribute: Honoring Our Veterans with 3,000 Flag Display Chandler, Arizona
Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who fought for our American freedoms. This year, on Monday, May 29th, the John S. McCain III VFW Post 7401, in partnership with the Chandler Elks Lodge #2429, will be hosting a special event to pay tribute to our veterans. Each year, Ace Hardware generously delivers over one million flags to the public, with many of these flags being distributed nationally to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organizations. Consumers who visit a participating Ace store on Saturday May 27th will receive a free 8” x 12” American flag. This Memorial Day, the VFW Post 7401 and Chandler Elks #2429 will place a flag on each of the over 3,000 veteran graves at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 10940 E Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248. The public is invited to assist with the flag placement on Sunday, May 28th, starting at 10 AM. This is a unique and meaningful opportunity for community members to come together in support of our veterans and their families. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, a special ceremony will be held at 9 AM, by representatives of the American Legion Post 35 and American Legion Post 91. The public is encouraged to attend this moving tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country and to witness the impressive display of 3,000 flags adorning the graves of our fallen heroes.
